CONTEMPORARY/ CUNNINGHAM BASED
Stefano initially trained at the National Academy of Dance in Rome. He then worked with various dance companies and choreographers in Italy such as ATON-Dino Verga Danza performing in works by Dino Verga and Luca Russo as well as a piece by Merce Cunningham.
In 2007 Stefano moved to London where he joined Michael Clark Company and then Rambert Dance Company. Since he left school his training has always been focused on the Cunningham technique. He took part in several workshops in Italy held by former dancers of the Cunningham Company and at the Cunningham Studio in New York.
At present Stefano is teaching for Rambert as part of their Learning & Participation Department, on the Centre for Advanced Training at Trinity Laban, Central School of Ballet, and occasionally teaches at London Contemporary Dance School, Royal Ballet School, and Richard Alston Dance Company.
He is currently finishing his Master’s Degree in Dance Science with particular interest in possible connections between perception of the learning environment and injuries.
Born in Washington, D.C., he trained locally under the direction of Barbara Marks, then at the School of American Ballet, New York, where he was awarded the Philip Morris Foundation Scholarship. He joined the Dance Theatre of Harlem in 2000, promoted to Soloist, 2001, and then joined ABT in 2003. His repertory included leading roles in The Four Temperaments, Agon, Forsythe’s Work within Work, Tharp’s In the Upper Room, Swan Lake (Von Rothbart) and roles in Cinderella (Officer), Manon (Gentleman) and Sylvia (Apollo).
He joined the royal ballet in 2006 and has since danced roles in Cinderella , Manon and a variety of the Royal ballets repertory and created roles in Chroma ,infra , Alice in wonderland , Limen , Electric Counterpoint and Mcgregor's recent Raven Girl .
At the beginning of 2010 Leila was one of 50 artists chosen to train for 50 days in Costa Rica with David Zambrano in Flying Low and Passing Through techniques, thus certifying her to pass on her development of them...
Since Costa Rica she has been developing her own voice through the techniques. She has been teaching both techniques at a professional level in UK and Internationally. She’s currently working on a new work, Universe of Sexy, supported by Arts Council England under Grants for the Arts, Laban Theatre and Plesni Teater Ljubljana.
PHYSICAL THEATRE/ CHOREOGRAPHIC PROJECT
born in 1976 in Oliveira de Azemeis, Portugal.
She completed her degree at Ginasiano Dance School in Porto, followed by London Contemporary Dance School in 1999. She joined BCN Dance Company in January 2000 as a dancer and where she started developing her choreography skills, becoming the resident choreographer of the company. In 2003 she joined Jasmin Vardimon Company, performing in Lullaby and Park. In 2005 she choreographed and performed for Dance\Film directed and produced by Israel Pimenta. In 2006 she became the rehearsal director for JVC’s Justitia and later took over a role in Justitia on tour. She was involved in the creation and performance of Yesterday and 7734. Aside from JVC, Mafalda keeps developing her own physical theatre creative work and choreographed 10min. of Coffee in 2006. She was selected by Aveirense Theatre to produce her work Kouglof in November 2006 and I prefer to stand...symbolically in 2007.
Since September 2012 teaches Contemporary Dance and Choreography\Performing Arts at Ginasiano Dance School, Academia de Dança Vale do Souza and EDDALM School, all in Portugal and became Companhia Instável’s Associate Artist .
Thomasin was a dancer with Rambert for 8 years. Since leaving he has worked with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Akram Khan and is now dancing with Russell Maliphant. Most recently he has performed in Douglas Thorpe's, Mad Dogs Dance Theatre and is touring with Company Chameleon.
Class will combine a contemporary base with aspects of capoeira, stretching and improvisation.
Lee Brummer is originally from Israel and the UK, and was trained at the "Jerusalem academy of music and dance".
She has danced with the ‘Bat Dor dance company’ and ‘Emanuel Gat Dance Company’ both based in Israel, as well as working with other international choreographers as a freelance artist.
Brummer has been active in the professional and educational dance scene since 2006. She has been teaching at international workshops and seminars in Europe, Scandinavia and the Middle East. She has worked as Assistant choreographer in various dance productions and musicals such as "CATS" and "Guys and Dolls" (Sweden) and has been choreographing independently since 2010.
Today, Brummer, together with I. Aloni, is the the Co- director, choreographer and founder of the Gothenburg based contemporary dance company ilDance.
Born and raised in Haifa, Israel, Yaron began playing the drums at the age of 15 winning the country’s national Telerock Competition in 1993 at the age of 18.
After several years of work as a freelance drummer in the Israeli music scene, Yaron met the tap artist Sharon Lavi, with whom he created the show Keshev Ketzev,. The show toured extensively in Israel to audience and critical acclaim. Following the success of this collaboration, they formed Tapeplas, a company that combined tap dance, music and rhythm in Barcelona, Spain where they successfully produced the shows BoomBach, Monkeys and Epic, with Yaron as Musical Director and Composer.
Since 2004 Yaron has been collaborating with the world acclaimed choreographer Hofesh Shechter. Yaron took part as the lead drummer, arranger and Musical Director in the research and creation of several works of the company includingUprising, In Your Rooms, Political Mother (as well as the Choreographer’s Cut productions) and Survivor and has been touring with the company around the world.
Currently Yaron also plays drums, percussion and vocals in Kindle Trails, a new folk-rock band, which was formed in 2011.
A very important part of Yaron’s love for music lies with teaching and he has delivered workshops and master classes for musicians and dancers in the UK, USA, Japan, Spain, Israel, South Korea and New Zealand. In 2012 Yaron gave a TEDx Talk in Jaffa, Israel.Berklee
Yaron graduated Summa cum Laude (the highest distinction) from the world-renowned College of Music in Boston, U.S.A in 2003.
Sabio Janiak - producer/composer , multi-instrumentalist, educator . Founder of Sabiomusic Production and The Sabio ? live act.
Sabio has associated himself with music and art since early childhood. His musical education (Academy of Music ? classical percussion, London Centre of Contemporary Music- music production ) and interest in sound therapy, opened his mind to the realm of sound and vibration. An ability to play numerous instruments and his experience of working together with world famous artists, have contributed to enhancing his rare musical sensibility. His openness and creativity have enabled him to break the stereotypes and intensify his pursuit of new means of musical expression.
Sabio has committed his life to exploring the world of sound. Sharing the fruits of this exploration is both a creative learning process and the means to inspire others.
Ronen has been a professional musician for the last 20 years.
His formal musical education started at a classical conservatoire when he was 9 years old. Ronen continued to higher education with 3 years at “Rimon School of Jazz” and in 2007 he was awarded a Masters degree from “London college of Music”.
Ronen currently working as accompanist in several universities such as “Laban Centre for Dance”, London contemporary dance school “The Place” and “Central school of Ballet”. Ronen also accompanies major dance companies in the UK such as Mathew Bourne “New Adventures”, “Phoenix Dance Theatre”, and “Rambert Dance Company”. He also collaborated & performed with “Darren Ellis Dance”, Joss Aronot Dance”, “Bluewhite Dance Co” around the world.
Ronen also performs with “Stuart Curtis Jazz Quintet”, "Daphna Sadeh & The Voyagers" and the world music ensemble “Shir”.
